Copy policies overview

Copy policies let you set conditions for emails that if met will result in either a copy of the message being filed to a specific path in the cloud or forwarded to a predefined email address.


When a part of an email message (like 'subject',  'from address', etc.) matches with an input string of your choice, the copy policy will store a copy of the email for you into your cloud storage service. You can also dynamically set up the filepath for storing and dataset the result obtained with a Dataset (key/value).

 

Create a New Copy policy

  1. Access to Mail2Cloud Dashboard.
  2. Click on "Auto filing" in top menu bar.
  3. Click on "Copy policies".


  4. Click on  "Create copy policy".

  5. Type a name for the new Copy policy.

  6. Enter the part of the email message where you want to search for matches.

    After clicking on this form field a list of options will be displayed.

  7. Enter the string you want to match into the email message part set at previous step.

  8. Type the folder path where you want to storage the emails that matches the search criteria.

  9. Here you can select an additional folder to make a copy of the email stored at the prevoius step.

    • To add a new condition just click con "+Add condition" button next to the condition name.

    • If you have more than one condition and you want to delete some click on the 'X' icon on the left of the condition.

    Tip: It is convenient to test every conditions before save.

  10. Click on "Save copy policy" button.

 

Testing a Condition

  1. Click on "Test conditions".

  2. Type a string to simulate the email message part that you want to match with your condition.

  3. Click on "Test" Button on the right.
    • If the string matches the condition you will see the path where the email and the copy will be stored.

    • In the case there's no matches a message like this will be displayed.

Tip: If you have more than one condition to test you can clear the values of the approved ones by clicking "Clear" button next to the single value metakey.
